Collaboration Leonor Maia Sinopse "Exercises in Style – Audiobook" is an interactive reinterpretation of Raymond Queneau’s literary classic, transforming the 137 variations of a single story into a dynamic listening experience. The project takes the form of a mobile audiobook platform, where each text is read by a different voice, highlighting the diversity of intonations, rhythms, and styles that bring the narrative to life. Set inside a bus, the app invites users to engage with the story in two distinct ways: surprise mode, where they randomly select passengers and hear their versions, and ordered mode, which follows the sequence of the book. This dual navigation system encourages exploration, personalization, and play, while maintaining a strong link to Queneau’s experimental spirit. By combining oral tradition with contemporary interactive design, the project not only republished the work but reimagined it for new audiences, fostering a richer connection between literature, voice, and reader participation.
